How to resolve the sdt-artifacts do_package failure during an AMD EDF Yocto build?

This compilation error is expected and is caused by an update to the Ubuntu rootfs package.

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Download the attached Debian package.
    ​tar_1.34+dfsg-1ubuntu0.1.22.04.3_amd64 2.deb​

  2. Copy the package to the /tmp directory:
    cp /tar_1.34+dfsg-1ubuntu0.1.22.04.3_amd64.deb /tmp/

  3. Install the package:
    sudo dpkg -i /tmp/tar_1.34+dfsg-1ubuntu0.1.22.04.3_amd64.deb

  4. Verify the installed version:
    tar --version

To prevent this issue from occurring again, we recommend disabling automatic package updates on the Ubuntu host.

Please execute the following command:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure unattended-upgrades

When prompted with “Automatically download and install stable updates?”, select “No”.
