If using a ‘one-to-one’ (straight-through) JTAG cable, an expected behavior when FMC to FMC cable is connected from one board to another board. Once the cable is connected, the JTAG connects to two boards directly and the JTAG chains of both systems become electrically shorted. Connecting two independent JTAG programmers to this merged chain causes signal contention or detection failure.
Recommended Action: We recommend isolating the JTAG signals in the FMC cable.
