What are the debug port specifications, procedure to flash the SD card using UUU tool on Windows and how to make the SD card bootable with rootfs.wic image?

  1. For, debug UART details pinouts please refer Hardware user guide and connect with iWave representative for details.
  2. Default UART Serial settings
    Baud Rate-115200
    Parity-none
    Data bits-8 bit
    Stop Bits-1 Bit
    Any DIP-switch / boot mode requirement to enable console. The boot mode setting is already set to SD boot, there is no need for any changes.
  3. Steps to make the SD Card bootable with the rootfs.wic image
    The “rootfs.wic.zst” file is available in UUU-Tool “Linux” folder.
    Please follow the below procedure to extract it to “rootfs.wic” and to create the bootable sd card using it in Windows PC.
  • Download and install PeaZip app
  • Open PeaZip
  • Locate the “rootfs.wic.zst” file in PeaZip’s file browser.
    Right-click > Extract here
    The decompressed “rootfs.wic” file is obtained

To create the bootable SD card:

  • Download Balena Etcher app and install
  • Connect the sd card to Windows PC
  • Open the app- Click on “Flash from file” - browse and select the “rootfs.wic
  • Make sure to select the proper sd card to be flashed under “Select Target”
  • Now click “Flash!”
  • Once the operation is finished SD card is ejected from the Windows PC
  • Connect the SD card to i.MX93 Board and boot from SD card
