By default, the binaries generated for the iWave platform already operate with a read-only root filesystem. In particular, the initramfs is loaded into RAM during boot, and any modifications made to it at runtime will not persist after a reboot.
For example, if a file is created or modified within the initramfs and the board is rebooted, the change will not be retained because the initramfs is reloaded from the image each time the system boots.
