Any available General Purpose I/O (GPIO) can be assigned for PCIe Reset function. In iWave development platform, we have successfully validated both PCIe Root Port (RP) and Endpoint (EP) configurations by using our FMC PCIe Module with alternative High-Performance (HP) I/O pins as PCIe reset.
On the SOM, the PERST signal (1.2V) is routed to Board-to-Board (B2B) Connector 1, it is connected via an onboard level translator (converting 1.2V to 1.8V) to specifically support only Root Port operation. The PERST signal from Bank 65 is not a mandatory pin for PCIe reset.
